HUNNIC TRIBES, Alchon Huns. Mehama, 450-500. Drachm (Silver, 28 mm, 3.23 g, 3 h). 'JAVA MAHAMA' ('the victorious Mahama' in Brahmi) Bust of Mehama with elongated skull to right, wearing diadem withcrescent at the front, earrings, pearl necklace and at the side, two horizontally-pleated ribbons; in field to right, large Alchon tamgha. Rev. Traces of a fire altar. Göbl -. Vondrovec, Type 317. Very rare. Lightly toned and with a splendid portrait. Slightly rough, otherwise, good very fine.
